A Visit to the Design Studio Where Many Works Are Born
Held Again This Year! The Open Studio Event "how studio"
This year marks the second iteration of the open studio event "how studio." Some members have changed since last year, and four notable designers will open their ateliers and studios to welcome visitors. Let's peek into the personal spaces where daily creative work takes place.

Directly Experience the Energy of Creation
The Nakameguro/Meguro area is known for its concentration of offices for people involved in creation, such as design and fashion. "how studio" is a studio open event held by creators based in this area during Design Week. Personal special exhibitions will be held, showcasing their creative environments and prototypes of new works.
The participating designers this year are Taiji Fujimori / TAIJI FUJIMORI ATELIER, Jin Kuramoto / JIN KURAMOTO STUDIO, Yota Kakuda / YOTA KAKUDA DESIGN, and Keita Suzuki / PRODUCT DESIGN CENTER. The event will be held on November 1st (Sat), 2nd (Sun), and partially on the 3rd (Mon, holiday). The opening dates vary by studio/atelier.
This is a valuable opportunity to directly experience the process of creation in the actual workspaces, and to understand how these internationally active designers generate their designs.
Taiji Fujimori / TAIJI FUJIMORI ATELIER
This atelier occupies a room in a building where creators gather. Amidst this everyday scene, furniture models are exhibited and introduced. Visitors can see the evolution of works, from very early pieces to the latest creations.

In addition to sketches and prototypes that convey the atmosphere of daily work, a collection of self-initiated works will also be exhibited. The new office, which was relocated in the summer of 2014, will be open to the public.

The studio, typically filled with objects, will be open to the public. Ahead of the planned office relocation in 2015, this exhibition will showcase past projects, with a focus on ongoing work in Bhutan.
