Focusing on cabins, which are gaining attention as objects that enable a lifestyle true to oneself, Japan's first "Cabin Festival" will be held in the nature-rich region of Chino City, Nagano Prefecture, from Saturday, July 25th to Sunday, August 2nd, offering a complete experience of "cabin" culture.

Experience Cabin Culture All at Once!

The "Cabin Festival," colloquially known as "Koya Fes," is an unprecedented summer festival themed around "living with a cabin." It features approximately 20 cabins as the main attractions, alongside DIY workshops, local delicacies, and soothing music.

Unique cabins designed specifically for this "Cabin Festival" have gathered from various builders. These include cabins themed around "traveling the world," cabins aiming for the ease of plastic models combined with comfortable living, cabins envisioned as cozy "annexes" offering a sense of personal space, and cabins that can be transported anywhere on a truck. Visitors can consult with exhibitors about cabin construction on the spot if they find a cabin they like.

YADOKARI LLC "INSPIRATION by YADOKARI"

Each Exhibit is Captivating

The cabin "DRESSLODGE_Kowaseru Hanare" by Hermit Club 1st Class Architects is an annex designed to adjust the distance between family members. It re-examines what can and cannot be done in the main house, focusing on what is possible in an annex, and designs human proximity.

"INSPIRATION by YADOKARI" by YADOKARI LLC is themed around small houses for traveling the world. Its minimal and sophisticated space offers owners creative and free days, presenting a new housing option for Japan.

"AzitO," exhibited by BinO Master's Club, is a cabin that combines the ease of assembling parts like a plastic model with the comfort of a newly built home. It creates a space that serves as an intermediate point between home and leisure, even on a small 6-tatami mat plot.

"KIBAKO - THE GREEN WEEKEND -" by Amagi Country Kobo is a cabin themed around a green weekend lifestyle away from the city. A limited design model appears, created for a florist couple who run a shop in Azabu-Juban, Tokyo, to spend their precious weekend time.

Discover the Lifestyle You Truly Desire

During the Cabin Festival, a participatory cabin-building workshop called "Live Cabin Building Workshop" will also be held. Using local thinned raw timber and old corrugated metal, one cabin will be built on-site each day, making the gradual increase of DIY cabins throughout the festival period a highlight. Additionally, workshops on utilizing hammocks for cabin spaces are planned.

Furthermore, the market will feature approximately 20 stalls daily, including shops offering fresh local Nagano produce and cuisine, as well as stores selling雑貨 (zakka - miscellaneous goods) and furniture perfect for cabins. On the weekend stages, artists who perform at various festivals, such as "Mononkul" playing jazz, acoustic, and pop, and "Toremono" performing jam band, pop, and soul, will appear. Visitors can enjoy their time exploring favorite cabins while listening to music with delicious food in hand.

By actually seeing and experiencing various cabins, this is an excellent event to contemplate the lifestyle you truly desire, together with family and friends.
