Let's learn the secrets to making arrangements look professional!
In Part 1 of "Trying Your Hand at Basket Arrangements," Mr. Hasegawa made his first attempt at creating an arrangement in a square basket with a Bordeaux-toned gradient, capturing the essence of autumn. With a few simple tips from Ms. Wake, he managed to create something presentable.
In this second part, we'll share the secrets and techniques to make popular basket arrangements look professional.
(1) Place the most beautiful flower at the top (in this case, the purple rose).
This will be the highest point.
(2) While keeping in mind the flow of color, insert the Bordeaux-colored gerbera, the velvety roses, and the sensuous, smoky pink celosia with orange nuances on the edges.
This is what I commented on Mr. Hasegawa's arrangement last time, transitionwhich means "a natural flow or shift in color."
(3) Add nuance with orchids (purple Vanda, pink Mokara).
(4) Fold the Dracaena leaves into loops to add a ribbon-like touch.
And now, here are the professional accents, the "finishing spices" for your arrangement.
First, attach wire to the berries of the pokeweed and gently place them on top to add a wild nuance.
Next, cross two Bordeaux-colored calla lilies, bend the stems (curving them with the heat of your hands), and create soft curves to complete the arrangement.
One of Ms. Wake's signature techniques is to expertly blend colors and textures like this to create a sense of luxury.
Next time, we'll feature the most festive occasion of the year,Christmas DecorationsDon't miss it!
