PIETER STOCKMANS' "Blue Glaze"
In Japan, we sometimes see works known as "kawa kujira" where the glaze is applied in a ring around the rim of a cup. Pieter Stockmans' pieces feature this technique with a blue glaze.

At first glance, they appear extremely minimal, but the impressions created by their subtle distortions—especially when several are placed together—lend them a decorative quality. I'm drawn to objects that reveal a hidden simplicity within their decorative elements.
His work embodies this perfectly.
