2&9 | Nara-born "Socks You'll Want to Repeat" Debut
2&9
A New Sock Brand from Nara
Socks You'll Want to Buy Again, Debuting Now
This year marks the 100th anniversary of sock knitting in Gojo, Nara. From Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten, a company with a long history since the Edo period and its main store in Nara, comes the Nara-based sock brand "2&9." The concept is "socks you'll want to buy again," and a debut event is being held until Sunday, November 27th at the directly managed stores of "Kisara" and "Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten."

A Factory Brand Debuts from a Major Sock-Producing Region
The brand name "2&9" comes from Nara's prefectural number, "29." When 2 and 9 are added, they equal "11," which is associated with socks. "2&9," which debuted on November 11th (considered Sock Day, as the shape of the number 1 resembles a sock), is a factory brand created through close collaboration between Nara's sock manufacturers and Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten.
Snug but not constricting, and they don't slip down
They don't pill easily or tear
They don't get stuffy or smell
They don't feel scratchy or itchy
They're warm and feel pleasant
And they have thoughtful designs, too
With these as themes, we offer socks that support active feet and gently envelop them.
The art director Manabu Mizuno's good design company led the logo and packaging design. The gift boxes, which turn these comfortable socks—defined by their "non-constricting," "fitting," and "warm" qualities—into lovely presents, are also a highlight.
