Orange Flowers for the Halloween Season
The Halloween season has arrived once again. Halloween is a traditional event observed on the evening of October 31st, preceding All Saints' Day. Modern Halloween's origins trace back to medieval Christianity, believed to be an incorporation of the Irish Celtic harvest festival 'Samhain' into Christian traditions.

Incorporating various berries for nuanced arrangements
Is it because our hearts instinctively seek warmth that we are drawn to orange flowers at this time of year?
The main color, orange, reminiscent of candlelight and the symbolic color of Halloween, pairs well with yellow, red, and green. For a New York style, black and purple are incorporated, evoking images of witches and black cats.
The jet-black ornamental pepper called 'Conical' has a playful image, and the rose named 'The Prince' boasts a beautiful deep purple hue. Incorporating various berries into arrangements adds a sense of nuance.
Particularly striking are the Viburnum tinus, with its jewel-like sheen in a deep purplish-blue, and the Viburnum compacta, with its vibrantly red, ripe berries.
Gazing at arrangements unique to this season, I light candles and turn off the electric lights on these long autumn evenings.
