"Creating Natural Phenomena with Artificial Objects"

The "GOOD DESIGN EXHIBITION 2013" showcases all award-winning designs from the latest Good Design Awards. Suppose Design Office was responsible for the installation design of Haier Aqua Sales' "DEEP AQUA." In this talk show, AQUA's product designer and Mr. Makoto Tanijiri will discuss the "user experience" of home appliances.

AQUA has consistently pursued the design demanded of home appliances, stating, "Our design is not meant to make a statement, but rather a form with a reason, backed by function. We want to deliver a sense of comfort that blends into the space with a pleasant presence, even when not in use."

Regarding this installation, Mr. Tanijiri commented, "We evolve technology for the sake of convenience, and at the same time, we live seeking the nature we originally desired. The evolution of technology, we believe, leads to coexistence between humans and nature, by creating situations as close to nature as possible. This space visualizes AQUA's corporate image – 'delivering a future to people's lives based on wisdom and flexible thinking, by emulating the comfort and convenience that nature provides' – by 'creating natural phenomena with artificial objects.'"
