Works to Enjoy as If Gazing at Stars from Afar

The curator of this exhibition, qp, is himself a male artist who paints. From the perspective that "works by women hold a sensibility I don't possess," 10 female artists were chosen.

The accompanying publication, "Another Planet," is bound like a collection of piano etudes. While the works of the 10 artists are harmoniously presented within its pages, visiting the exhibition in person reveals the surprising individuality of each artist's style, evident even in the smallest details.

Kumiko Aimoto, who deepens her hues by layering colored pencils with varying pressure.

Hisae Maeda, who captures her worlds by framing watercolor and pencil drawings, deliberately leaving the texture of the paper visible.

Noriko Sato, whose line drawings are adorned with vibrant cutouts, and so on, each artist's unique charm is apparent.

Perhaps qp's perspective is what threads together the distinct touches and textures of these 10 artists with a single, delicate strand.

Much like the resonance of the title "Another Planet," this exhibition is meant to be enjoyed with the feeling of gazing at stars from a distance.
