A Traveling Exhibition of Last Year's Christmas Display at MUJI Shinjuku
While Masumi Yamauchi is widely known for her book cover design for "What If the World Were a Village of 100 People," she has pursued a variety of other creative endeavors.
One such pursuit is a series of works she has been creating since 1997: "Noren," paintings in the shape of a traditional Japanese curtain, which are always hung on Ikuko Harada's keyboard during clammbon concerts.
Over 13 years, she has accumulated 340 "Noren" paintings. For those who have attended clammbon concerts, the sight of those "Noren" gently swaying during the performance might evoke memories of the music.

Masumi Yamauchi herself never imagined she would continue painting them for 13 years, nor does she know how much longer they will continue. This lack of pretense might be the secret to maintaining their fresh appeal when created for live performances.
For this exhibition, we have selected works themed around winter scenes from January. Coincidentally, she continues to use her unique style of joining five horizontal sheets of MUJI's sketch paper.
Vibrantly depicted animals leap through groves of trees, and birds spread their wings in the winter sky.
Please come and see.
During the exhibition, in addition to the "Noren" art book, original bookmarks and postcards will also be available for purchase.
