Maserati Unveils New 630ps V6 Engine
On July 1st, Maserati announced the "Nettuno," a new V6 engine that will power the upcoming "MC20" super sports car, set to be unveiled in September.

Technology Derived from F1 Machines
This engine, proclaimed as "100% Maserati, 100% Made in Modena," is based on a 90° V6 architecture and features a twin-turbo setup and a dry-sump lubrication system, a traditional solution for super sports cars. With a displacement of 3.0 liters, it produces a maximum output of 630ps at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 730Nm from 3,000rpm.
The compression ratio is 11:1, with a bore and stroke of 88x82mm, resulting in an output of 210ps per liter. Its dimensions are 1,000mm wide, 650mm high, and 600mm long, with a weight under 220kg.
Key to this engine is its Formula 1-derived pre-chamber combustion system with a twin-plug layout. The pre-chamber is essentially a combustion chamber situated between the central electrode and the conventional combustion chamber, connected by specially shaped holes. Furthermore, the adoption of a direct and port twin-injection system aims to achieve both high output and fuel efficiency. This marks the world's first application of pre-chamber combustion system technology in a road car engine.
At the "MMXX: The time to be audacious" event on September 9th and 10th, where the MC20 will have its world premiere, Maserati plans to unveil innovative powertrain systems and new programs that will support the brand's new era.
