Group Companies Worldwide, Including Lamborghini and Skoda, Also Produce Masks

The production of parts for face shields by the Volkswagen Group is part of a joint multinational initiative with the 3D printing network "Mobility Goes Additive," which includes Airbus and approximately 250 other companies.
In addition to the large-scale 3D printing centers in Volkswagen's headquarters in Wolfsburg and Ingolstadt, over 50 3D printers are in operation at various Volkswagen Group plants, including those of Audi, Bentley, and Porsche, to produce parts. The number of printers is expected to increase further.
Concurrently, Lamborghini, SEAT, and Skoda, along with Volkswagen Passenger Cars, are engaged in the production of medical supplies. Volkswagen Navarra in Spain has already commenced face shield production, delivering approximately 1,000 units to the regional government.
Skoda, in collaboration with the Czech Technical University, has developed a 3D printing process for manufacturing reusable FFP3 masks. The Czech Ministry of Health is currently distributing these masks to hospital staff, including doctors and nurses.
Lamborghini has also repurposed part of its production facilities to manufacture surgical masks and protective shields made of plexiglass. These masks are being donated to hospitals in Bologna, among other uses. SEAT is also working on producing ventilators and various models of face masks, although these are currently awaiting official approval.
Furthermore, Volkswagen has already donated hundreds of thousands of medical face masks to the German public health system. The company has also committed to donating medical supplies valued at approximately 40 million euros (about 4.7 billion yen) to support the functionality of Germany's healthcare system.
