Lamborghini's First Hybrid Car, Named in Honor of Former VW Chairman Ferdinand Piëch, Makes World Premiere
At the "Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) 2019," which opened on Tuesday, September 10th, Lamborghini announced that its first hybrid sports car would be officially named the "Sián FKP 37," a designation derived from the initials and birth year of the late Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch, who served as Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen. The car was unveiled to the world for the first time.

819 hp Output Achieved with the Lowest Power-to-Weight Ratio in Lamborghini's V12 History
The official name for the model, previously announced as Lamborghini's first hybrid sports car, has been decided as the "Sián FKP 37."
"Sián" originally meant "flash of lightning" in the local dialect of the Bologna region, where Lamborghini's headquarters are located. Furthermore, the name "FKP 37" was bestowed in tribute to the late Ferdinand Karl Piëch, former Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen (Lamborghini's parent company) and an engineer, who held the iconic V12 powertrain in high regard and whose achievements are celebrated.
The "Sián FKP 37," which combines this V12 engine with a hybrid system, is Lamborghini's first electrified model. It features a world-first application of a supercapacitor for its energy storage system, and its unique hybrid system, utilizing new materials and other innovations, achieves a maximum output of 819 hp (602 kW). This results in the lowest power-to-weight ratio ever in a V12 Lamborghini, with acceleration from 0-100 km/h in under 2.8 seconds and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h.
Production is limited to 63 units, with a price of 2 million euros. All units have already been sold, and owners can enjoy individual customization.
At Lamborghini's booth at the Frankfurt Motor Show, other exhibits include the 2020 model of the SUV "Urus," as well as the "Huracán EVO Spyder" and "Huracán EVO Coupé" featuring the "Ad Personam" personalization program with Alcantara material.
