The "A-Class Sedan," the first compact sedan based on the front-wheel-drive chassis used in Mercedes-Benz's "A-Class" and "B-Class," has been announced.
The lineup includes the "A 180 Sedan" and "A 180 Style Sedan" with a 1.4-liter inline-4 turbo engine producing a maximum output of 100kW (136ps) and a maximum torque of 200Nm, as well as the "A 250 4MATIC" which combines a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo engine with a maximum output of 165kW (224ps) and a maximum torque of 350Nm with the "4MATIC" all-wheel-drive system.
The exterior design is based on Mercedes-Benz's core principle of "Sensual Purity," significantly reducing lines and edges. The wide and low, sporty body also boasts excellent aerodynamic performance, achieving a Cd value of 0.22.
The interior follows the basic design of the compact hatchback "A-Class." A new widescreen display is installed at the top of the dashboard, emphasizing a wide horizontal design.
By shortening the front and rear overhangs and lengthening the wheelbase, interior space has been secured. The trunk space is 420 liters, and Mercedes-Benz claims that four adults can travel comfortably.
The infotainment system features MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience), which offers personalized responses tailored to the user through AI learning functions. Voice control, activated by saying "Hey, Mercedes," can handle destination input, phone calls, music selection, message input and reading, weather information, and control of various heaters and lighting.
Furthermore, smartphone connectivity features have been expanded. Wireless charging for mobile phones is standard equipment for all models in the front seats.
