Porsche Adds 718 T Models to Cayman and Boxster Lineup
On June 24, Porsche Japan announced the addition of two new models, the "718 Cayman T" and "718 Boxster T," to its two-seater sports car lineup, designed to maximize driving pleasure. Orders began on the same day.
Equipped with a 2.0-liter Flat-Four Turbo Engine Producing 300 PS and 380 Nm of Torque
In Porsche tradition, "T" stands for "Touring," a designation that represents driving pleasure in its purest form and is applied to models best suited for winding roads.
Both 718 T models are powered by a 2.0-liter flat-four turbo engine delivering a maximum output of 300 PS (220 kW) at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 380 Nm at 2,150 rpm, paired with a 7-speed PDK transmission. With a curb weight of 1,380 kg and a power-to-weight ratio of 4.6 kg/ps, they boast a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 275 km/h.
The exterior is distinguished by 20-inch alloy wheels painted in high-gloss titanium gray and a PASM chassis that lowers the ride height by 20mm. Further differentiation comes from agate gray mirror shells, Cayman T/Boxster T logos on both sides, and center-mounted twin tailpipes in black chrome plating. Seven body colors are available, with Lava Orange and Miami Blue offered as special colors.
The interior features a 360mm GT Sport steering wheel with a mode switch, black instrument dials and door entry guards adorned with Cayman T/Boxster T logos, and sport seats embroidered with the 718 logo.
Additional features of the 718 T include the standard Sport Chrono package, Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical rear differential lock, and the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch transmission. The PADM system, which minimizes vibrations in the engine/gearbox area to significantly improve handling precision and stability during load changes and high-speed cornering, is also a hallmark of the 718 T.
The price for the 718 Cayman T is ¥8,932,000, and for the 718 Boxster T, it is ¥9,322,000.
