More on the Lamborghini Huracán EVO RWD Spyder
On May 7, Lamborghini announced its
official websiteits new model, the Huracán EVO RWD Spyder, utilizing augmented reality (AR) for the first time, as previously reported. This article provides further details on the model.
Soft top available in a wide range of colors to match the body
The Huracán EVO RWD Spyder is the open-top version of the rear-wheel-drive V10-powered Huracán EVO RWD. Its ultra-lightweight soft top, which can be opened or closed at speeds up to 50 km/h, retracts into the rear hood in under 17 seconds and is available in a wide range of colors to match the body.
The body, measuring 4,520mm long, 1,933mm wide, and 1,180mm high, retains the distinctive lines of a sports car regardless of whether the roof is open or closed, delivering performance comparable to the coupe without additional aerodynamic parts. The new front splitter in the front air intake and the high-gloss painted rear bumper with its distinctive vertical fins clearly set it apart from other Huracán series models.
The naturally aspirated V10 engine produces the same maximum output of 449 kW (610 PS) at 8,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 560 Nm at 6,500 rpm as the coupe. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Performance figures include 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 9.6 seconds, and a top speed of 324 km/h.
The P-TCS traction control system, which adapts to the ANIMA drive modes, has been specially tuned for the rear-wheel-drive model. It is designed to provide stable torque and reliable traction during sharp cornering and when recovering from drifts, delivering adrenaline-pumping performance in all conditions.
In SPORT mode, it limits torque when the oversteer angle increases sharply, ensuring vehicle stability and excellent control while still allowing for enjoyable drifts during acceleration. In CORSA mode, it optimizes traction and agility when exiting corners at high performance, maximizing dynamics and speed.
Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Lamborghini, commented, "The Huracán EVO RWD Spyder is a car that doubles the joy of driving. It brings pure driving pleasure and dynamic moments and opportunities. The driver can become one with Lamborghini's technology and experience the feedback and engagement derived from the rear-wheel-drive setup. While minimizing electronic controls, they can savor the freedom and exhilaration that only an open-top car can provide."
Deliveries are scheduled to begin after the summer of 2020, with an expected price of 26,539,635 yen (excluding tax) in Japan.
