BMW has launched the "M550i xDrive Ultimate Edition," a limited run of 55 units featuring a V8 engine tuned by BMW M.

The seventh generation of the BMW 5 Series, fully redesigned in 2017, features a flowing roofline and a wide kidney grille. Now, a limited edition model with the highest driving performance in the series has arrived.

The powertrain is a 4.4-liter V8 gasoline engine developed by BMW M, delivering a maximum output of 390kW (531ps) and peak torque of 750Nm. Paired with BMW's intelligent xDrive all-wheel-drive system, which efficiently transfers torque to the road for stable driving, it achieves 0-100km/h in just 4.0 seconds.

For a sportier aesthetic, the kidney grille and mirror caps are finished in Cerium Grey, a color exclusive to M Performance models. Additionally, it features laser lights, 20-inch exclusive wheels, and M seatbelts with special stitching – elements not found in other BMW series.

The Carbon Black body color, which harmonizes with the Cerium Grey and enhances its presence, is also offered as a special option. Unusually for a limited edition model, where specifications are often fixed, customization of body color and seat specifications is possible, similar to the standard models.

Standard safety features include Active Cruise Control, Steering & Lane Control Assist for lane departure prevention, and Top View & Side View Cameras that project a bird's-eye view onto the display to aid parking.

Production is limited to 55 units, with a price of 13.19 million yen.
