Transforming, Evolved for Greater Freedom

Last year on April 1st,A reversible model to enjoy both the new and old MINI in one car.was released and became a topic of conversation. This year, it has been revealed that a special MINI will again be sold, limited to April 1st.

This year's model,Its recent appearance in the movie 'Pixels'is the inspiration, and at the same time, to emphasize MINI's retrofitted image, this is a MINI with a body made of 8-bit dots. Its greatest feature is the transform function, allowing the arrangement of dots to be freely reconfigured for transformation. This function, inherited from last year's model, is said to be convenient for navigating narrow alleys and parking in tight spaces.

Also, being 8-bit, the body color will be available in 256 colors (2 to the power of 8 is 256). This will be the first and last model to offer such a wide range of body colors.

Dr. A. Fool, who was in charge of development following the 2014 model, stated, "While developing the Classic MINI button announced last year, which allows enjoyment of both the latest and older models, was challenging, the development of this 8-bit model was even more so. Expressing designs in 8-bit was difficult, but above all, incorporating the transform function was troublesome. However, I believe this will help solve the global issue of population concentration in large cities."

Furthermore, the doctor offered two points of caution for this year: "First, you might unexpectedly encounter Pac-Man, a representative of 8-bit characters, especially in alleys. As we are both 8-bit models, he gets jealous. And second, pay attention to the date of this news."

The movie 'Pixels,' featuring the giant pixelated Pac-Man and the MINI Ghost confronting it, will be released in Japan on September 19, 2015.
