The Lexus "F" Designation
Five machines, clad in pure white, navigate the Fuji Speedway with effortless grace. This video, featuring a breakdance performance set to classical melodies, is Lexus's moving artwork, embodying the sheer pleasure of driving.
The vehicles featured in this work, titled "DANCE of F," include the "RC F GT500" which has competed in SUPER GT since the 2014 season, and the "RC F GT3" scheduled to debut in the 2015 season. The production models consist of the "LFA," Lexus "F" series' pinnacle and a limited-edition supersports car of 500 units, and two of the latest sports coupes, the "RC F," making a total of five cars.
The show opens with a perfectly synchronized formation, then transitions to breathtaking performances, such as the "LFA" overtaking racing cars with a graceful drift, and two "RC F" models executing simultaneous drifts.
Though the video spans just three minutes, a single lap of the Fuji Speedway, the sight of these cars tearing through the course, kicking up tire smoke and roaring with exhaust notes, embodies the essence of Lexus vehicles bearing the "F" designation – special cars infused with the spirit of racing.
For this film, Japan's foremost specialists gathered. Hiroaki Ishiura drove the "RC F GT500," Tatsuya Kataoka piloted the "RC F GT3," Yukiharu Komagata was behind the wheel of the "LFA," and Tatsuya Sakuma and Masato Kawabata handled the "RC F" models.
After watching the main feature, be sure to view the making-of footage located at the bottom of the article. It includes scenes from the shoot, which was completed in a tight one-day schedule, as well as driver interviews.
