Matte Gray Body with Yellow Accents

The smart is a pioneering micro-compact car developed using the know-how of Mercedes-Benz's automotive manufacturing.

The exterior of this special edition features body panels in "matte gray" (a non-glossy gray), which is not a standard option, along with black tridion safety cells and body-colored wheels, creating a chic atmosphere. Vivid yellow door mirror covers accentuate its stylish individuality.

The interior is based on gray and black, with yellow accents on the seatback stripes, stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and door trims, as well as the meter rings, creating a chic and stylish impression that echoes the exterior. Additionally, paddle shifters are adopted for the seats and steering wheel, allowing for an enjoyable sporty drive.

The engine is a 999cc DOHC inline-3. This special edition also comes standard with a "start/stop function" that automatically stops the engine when the vehicle speed drops below 8 km/h due to the driver's braking, and instantly restarts the engine when the brake pedal is released for acceleration or starting. This achieves a fuel consumption of 23.0 km/l and CO2 emissions of 101 g/km.

BRAND HISTORY

When tracing the history of automobiles, two German engineers, Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz, emerge as pioneers. It is by now common knowledge that these two men independently created gasoline-powered automobiles between 1885 and 1886, laying the foundation for the automotive society. The companies they founded were at times seen as rivals, but to overcome the recession after World War I, they joined forces, and Daimler-Benz AG was established through their merger in 1926.

The name "Mercedes" given to the products originated when Emil Jellinek, a customer of Daimler's, had the name of his eldest daughter used as a condition for taking over sales outside of Germany. It was registered as a trademark by Daimler-Benz AG in 1902.

Thus born, Mercedes, and subsequently Mercedes-Benz, has continued to lead the times as a driving force in automotive development, actively introducing cutting-edge technologies such as the safety passenger cell, airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), and Night View.
