A Design Approach Unseen in Previous Peugeots

While its exterior retains the traditional styling of a grand tourer, it's clear that the design approach taken is unlike any previous Peugeot.

The body dimensions are 4423mm in length, 1917mm in width, and 1246mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2595mm. A distinctive feature of the front is the large indentation in the center of the hood. At the tip of this sculpted, unique indentation, a newly designed, three-dimensional Lion badge is affixed. The large headlights and grille with a wide opening, seen in recent Peugeots, have receded. In their place, slim LED headlights and a compact grille have been adopted, which is also a characteristic.

The treatment of the doors and rear fenders is also original. Its three-dimensional design is sure to capture people's attention. The hardtop is detachable, and the integration of "Reform Profile Technology," used in yachts, reduces the feeling of an add-on when fitted.

Direct-Injection 1.6-Liter Inline-4 Turbo + Electric Motor

The interior features a 2+1 seating layout, with two seats in the front and one in the rear. The cabin is not only lavishly appointed with leather and wood but also combines advanced materials like nickel and satin-finish chrome to create a futuristic and luxurious interior. Additionally, a clock co-developed with "Bell & Ross" is integrated into the center of the dashboard, which can be removed and used as a wristwatch.

The powertrain consists of a direct-injection 1.6-liter inline-4 turbo "THP" engine producing a maximum of 218ps at the front, and a motor producing a maximum of 95ps on the rear axle. The total output is 313ps, making it a 4WD system where the front wheels are driven by the engine and the rear wheels by the motor.

This is the system known as "Hybrid4," which Peugeot commercialized in the "3008" in 2011, and it achieves a European combined cycle fuel economy of 20.4 km/ℓ.

This SR1 will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, opening on March 2nd. It is no exaggeration to say that this vehicle indicates the future direction of Peugeot's design.
