Maximum Output Increased to 500 PS, PDK Now Available
The new Porsche 911 Turbo is the result of extensive technological innovation, numerous updates, and a thorough redesign. Consequently, performance has been enhanced in all aspects, including fuel efficiency, power-to-weight ratio, top speed, and driving dynamics.
The seventh-generation new 911 Turbo is equipped with a newly developed 3.8-liter flat-six engine that produces a maximum output of 500 PS (368 kW). This unit, which has undergone a complete overhaul for the first time in the 35-year history of the 911 Turbo, incorporates cutting-edge technologies such as Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) and Porsche's unique turbocharger with Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG), first introduced in the current 911 Turbo.
For the first time in the 911 Turbo, the transmission features the seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch transmission, which is already standard on the 911 Carrera series.
As a new option for PDK-equipped models, a steering wheel with gearshift paddles, familiar from other sports models like Ferrari, will be available. The paddles on the steering wheel allow for upshifts with the right paddle and downshifts with the left.
Sales to Commence Sequentially Worldwide, Starting in Germany in November 2009
The adoption of these new technologies allows the new 911 Turbo to achieve an unprecedented balance of efficiency and performance. For example, CO2 emissions have been reduced by approximately 18% compared to the previous model, and fuel consumption per 100 km of driving, based on EU5 standards, is a mere 11.4–11.7 liters.
In terms of performance, the 0-100 km/h acceleration is under 4 seconds. It reaches 200 km/h in under 12 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 310 km/h.
Additionally, the new 911 Turbo is available with an optional Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) system, which variably distributes drive torque to the rear axle. This system enhances agility and enables precise steering, further elevating the driving pleasure.
The new Porsche 911 Turbo is available in two body styles, coupe and cabriolet, with sales commencing sequentially worldwide starting in Germany in November 2009.

BRAND HISTORY
Porsche, a sports car brand representing Germany, commands overwhelming support from discerning enthusiasts worldwide. Its origins trace back to 1931. Ferdinand Porsche, a prodigy who distinguished himself as an automotive engineer from his twenties, established the "Porsche Design Office" in Stuttgart, Germany, after a tenure as technical director at Daimler, to pursue independent ventures. From then on, he was entrusted with the development of various vehicles by automobile manufacturers. Among his most famous works is the "Volkswagen Beetle," which significantly contributed to motorization as Germany's "people's car."
The first car to bear his name as an automobile manufacturer was the "356," introduced in 1948. Since then, Porsche has released sports cars such as the "911," "924," and "928," while also focusing on motorsport. For instance, they have achieved 16 victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, arguably the world's most grueling race, and contributed to three series championships as an engine supplier in Formula 1, marking a brilliant racing legacy. It goes without saying that their technological prowess and dedication to driving performance continue to live on in their products today.
Currently, the "911," which continues to be highly acclaimed as a top-tier sports car even 45 years after its debut, along with the open-top sports car "Boxster," its coupe counterpart "Cayman," and the premium sports SUV "Cayenne," all boast immense popularity within their respective lineups.
