An Event to Experience the Beauty of Classic Cars
A "Concours d'Elegance" is an event where classic cars are judged on their design elegance and grace, adherence to original condition at the time of sale, and historical significance. In the 1920s, when Paris, a city of art and pleasure, was the cultural capital of the world and known as the "Belle Époque," cultural events centered around automobiles—the pinnacle of cutting-edge technology—became wildly popular. This is said to be the origin of the "Concours d'Elegance." Back then, the latest models were displayed in beautiful locations such as lakeside chateaux and prestigious golf clubs to compete for their aesthetic appeal. With a tradition spanning over 80 years, primarily in Europe and North America, it has now entered a new golden age as the most exclusive and prestigious classic car event for adults. This marks the second time the event has been held in Japan, following 2007.
Six Award-Winning Cars Crowned in a Glorious History
At the judging held on April 2nd, 18 nominated concours cars, manufactured between 1910 and 1975, competed, and the following six award-winning cars were announced.
• Japan Classic Car Club Award… 1928 Amilcar CGSS
• Masterpiece of Tokyo… 1937 Jaguar SS100
• Class A "Vintage" Gold Award… 1919 Rolls-Royce 40/50HP Silver Ghost Alpine Eagle
• Class B "Post Vintage" Gold Award… 1937 Frazer Nash BMW 328

Beloved Cars of Celebrities and Rare, Legendary Models Gather
In addition to the main concours participants, the show featured a Rolls-Royce 25/30 HP once cherished by former Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida, and a 1924 Bentley 3-Litre, the beloved car of Jirō Shirasu during his studies in England. Furthermore, a special corner celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Ferrari Club of Japan showcased classic Ferraris such as the "250 GTO" and "275 GTB," alongside the unique one-off car "Ferrari SP1," officially produced for the first time in 50 years. The "Alfa Romeo 8C Spider," whose production model was unveiled at last year's Geneva Motor Show with official production commencing this year, and the "MiTo," a compact model developed with Alfa Romeo's full effort, made their Japanese debut together.
Car x Fashion: A Collaboration with Popular Stylists
This year, popular stylists Masayuki Sakurai and Ryo Kuroda have proposed coordinated outfits to match the era and concept of each car. The collaborations, themed around luxury, elegance, and the essence of TOKYO, are also noteworthy.
The "Motor Show in the Sky" runs until April 12th. Immerse yourself in the beauty of classic cars against the romantic night view of Tokyo.
