The 911 with the Most Powerful Engine

PorscheThe "911" has shone for over 40 years as Porsche's flagship model. The current generation, the "Type 997" which debuted in 2004, inherits the classic rear-engine layout from the original model. However, Porsche continuously evolves the car, such as by switching the flat-six, or horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, from air-cooling to water-cooling, a commitment that underpins its enduring popularity.

Furthermore, a hallmark of the 911 is its wide array of variations designed to meet the diverse demands of its fans. Among the 911 series, the "911 GT2," which debuted in 2007, boasts the most powerful engine.

The impressive turbocharged engine delivers a maximum output of 530 ps from its 3.6-liter displacement. This surpasses the 911 Turbo by 50 ps. Moreover, while the 911 Turbo is all-wheel drive, the 911 GT2 deliberately opts for rear-wheel drive to achieve a lighter weight. Accelerating from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 329 km/h, it achieves the fastest performance in the history of the 911.

Naturally, it is equipped with features befitting its performance, including standard ceramic brakes known as "PCCB," the "3-stage PSM" stability control offering three selectable modes, and a "launch assistant" that contributes to rapid starts. Despite being such a high-performance model, its respectable fuel economy of 8 km/L (measured by EU standards) reflects Porsche's commitment to environmental consciousness.

BRAND HISTORY
PORSCHE is a sports car brand representing Germany, earning overwhelming support from skilled drivers worldwide. Its origins trace back to 1931. Ferdinand Porsche, a genius who distinguished himself as an automotive engineer in his twenties, gained experience as technical director at Daimler before establishing his own "Porsche Design Studio" in Stuttgart, Germany. From then on, he was entrusted with the development of various vehicles by car manufacturers. Among his most famous works is the "Volkswagen Beetle," which significantly contributed to motorization as Germany's "people's car."

The first car to bear his name as an automobile manufacturer was the "356," which appeared in 1948. Since then, Porsche has introduced sports cars like the "911," "924," and "928" to the world, while also focusing on motorsport. For instance, they have achieved 16 victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, considered the world's most grueling race, and contributed to three series championships as an engine supplier in Formula 1, accumulating a brilliant racing record. It goes without saying that their technological prowess and dedication to driving performance continue to live on in their products today.

Currently, the "911," which continues to be highly regarded as a top-tier sports car even 45 years after its debut, along with the open-top sports car "Boxster," its coupe counterpart the "Cayman," and the premium sports SUV "Cayenne," all boast immense popularity within their lineup.
