A Custom Suit Developed with 1,680 LEDs

As part of "AMAZING IN MOTION," a global project that pursues surprise and emotion through video, photography, and technology, Lexus has previously unveiled innovative works such as the first installment, "STEPS," featuring a giant puppet walking through the city, and the second, "SWARM." For this work, they enlisted Adam Berg, director of numerous music videos and TV commercials. Forty specialists in filming and stunt rigging gathered to shoot the project in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

Standing atop a skyscraper, the "lightmen" racing through the skies above Kuala Lumpur are actual humans wearing custom-made LED light suits, performing acrobatic movements. The suits were jointly designed and produced by Hollywood costume designer Vin Burnham and technical director Adam Wright, drawing inspiration from Lexus's iconic spindle grille. The LEDs, 1,680 per suit, were illuminated and flashed using a uniquely developed control system, resulting in a grand-scale production.



By illuminating and flashing the lights on these suits one by one in sequence, it appears as if a single lightman is dashing through the city. Accompanied by the upbeat track "Running" by "Computer Magic," a unit formed by producer and DJ Daniel Glass Johnson, the lightmen move freely, dynamically, and as they please through the streets of Kuala Lumpur.

This video will be sequentially released worldwide, including Japan, through television and the internet.
