Left-Hand Drive Model Added to "S 400 Hybrid"
The Mercedes-Benz "S-Class" underwent a full model change last summer, its first in eight years. With the Maybach officially discontinued, the S-Class lineup ranges from the "S 400 Hybrid," which combines a V6 direct-injection engine with a hybrid system, to the AMG model'sS 65 AMG, boasting a diverse lineup. Now, the "Detroit Show", announced at the "S 600 Long", powered by a V12 twin-turbo engine, has been released in Japan.
The S 600 Long features a 6-liter V12 twin-turbo engine, delivering a maximum output of 390 kW (530 hp) at 4,900-5,300 rpm and a peak torque of 830 Nm (84.6 kgm) at 1,900-4,000 rpm. This represents the pinnacle of the S-Class in its standard model configuration, distinct from the sportier AMG variants.
In terms of functionality, it comes standard with "MAGIC BODY CONTROL," which was a highlight upon the new S-Class's introduction. This system uses a stereo multi-purpose camera to scan the road ahead, detecting undulations and instantly adjusting suspension damping to achieve a flat ride. Furthermore, it incorporates all of Mercedes-Benz's advanced safety features, including the "DRIVE PILOT" advanced driver-assistance system, which utilizes radar and stereo multi-purpose cameras.
The exterior is distinguished by a dedicated six-bar grille and 19-inch five-twin-spoke alloy wheels. The interior offers a space crafted with the finest artistry, befitting its status. The rear seating, crucial for a long-wheelbase model, is enhanced with comfortable amenities, including executive seats that recline up to 43.5 degrees, befitting a flagship.
In addition, the S-Class lineup now includes left-hand drive models for the "S 400 Hybrid" and "S 400 Hybrid Exclusive." Standard equipment has also been enhanced across other models, with the "S 500 Long," "S 63 AMG Long," and "S 63 AMG 4MATIC Long" now featuring a touchpad and privacy glass.
