This year marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of theMustang, one of America's iconic sports cars. A full model change to the sixth generationis also on the horizon. Meanwhile, it's undeniable that the current powerful design and driving dynamics have garnered a devoted following. This special edition offers an opportunity for those fans to acquire a special Mustang before its redesign.

The base model is the "Mustang V8 GT Coupe" equipped with a 5-liter engine, delivering a maximum output of 313 kW (426 ps) at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 529 Nm (53.9 kgm) at 4,250 rpm. Two transmission options are available: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic, both featuring a revised, lower final drive ratio for enhanced acceleration.

The front brakes utilize large Brembo rotors and calipers, complemented by exclusive 19-inch tires and specially designed alloy wheels. The front and rear suspension systems have also been enhanced with custom-tuned springs, struts, and rear control arms, improving both braking and handling performance. Furthermore, the "ESC" (Electronic Stability Control) program has been recalibrated for sportier driving, and the interior features Recaro sports leather seats, all contributing to a more exhilarating driving experience.

Body color options include the popular Sterling Gray and Black. For the automatic model, a vibrant, exclusive color named "Gotta Hava It Green" is also available, a nod to the phrase "Gotta Hava It." Despite the array of premium features, the price is set at 5.4 million yen. Only 70 units will be sold.

Campaign to win tickets to the movie "Need for Speed" also underway

In commemoration of the Mustang's 50th anniversary, Ford Japan is running a campaign offering 50 pairs (100 individuals) of tickets to the upcoming film "Need for Speed," set for release in June, which features the Mustang in thrilling car chases. The campaign runs until Sunday, May 18th. To enter, users must "like" the campaign page on Ford's Facebook and then complete the designated application form.
