Through a partnership between Daimler and Renault, it has been decided that the next-generation model will share its platform with Renault's newTwingomodel, which was first announced at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The third-generation TwingoSmart Fortwo.Twingois still fresh in our memory.

However, the current second-generation model, which inherits the style of the original urban micro-compact car pioneer, still holds its own with its unique styling and agile performance derived from its light weight.

Now, the final Brabus-tuned models of the current Smart generation have arrived: the "Smart Fortwo Coupe Brabus Xclusive Edition Midnight Blue" and the "Smart Fortwo Cabrio Brabus Xclusive Edition Midnight Blue."



The powertrain features a 1-liter, 3-cylinder DOHC turbo engine. Compared to the entry-level "Smart Fortwo mhd," it boasts a 44 percent increase in output, delivering a maximum power of 75kW (102ps) at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 147Nm (15.0kgm) between 2,500 and 3,600 rpm.

In conjunction with the increased output, the transmission has been reinforced with features such as expanded clutch capacity, reducing shift times for gears 1-4 by approximately 20 percent, enabling more direct and speedier gear changes.

The interior and exterior feature special equipment from the "Smart Brabus Tailor Made" full custom order program, meticulously finished by skilled artisans. The exterior boasts an aggressive styling with a dedicated front spoiler, side and rear skirts, and twin-spoke alloy wheels, all in a special design. This is further enhanced by the "Midnight Blue" body color, created exclusively for this model.

The interior, meanwhile, is appointed with Sahara Beige leather for the seats, dashboard, and door trims, a specification unique to the Japanese market. The leather features double stitching in Midnight Blue, matching the body color, and accent parts in the same Midnight Blue are scattered throughout. Additionally, sporty Brabus-exclusive features such as a small-diameter steering wheel with paddle shifters and shift knobs made of aluminum and genuine leather adorn the cabin.

The sales figures and prices are as follows: the Coupe is limited to 100 units and priced at 2,999,000 yen, while the Cabrio is limited to 50 units and priced at 3,250,000 yen.
