Cutting-Edge Technology for Worry-Free Transformations

A special edition has already arrived for the "MINI", the third generation of which was just announced in Japan.

The biggest highlight of this limited edition is its mechanism that allows it to easily transform into a "CLASSIC Mini" with a single button press, activated via the multi-information display on the center console. It employs a unique one-touch transformation system. BMW claims it features transformation technology that even those who struggle with transforming die-cast robots can use with confidence.

The transformation takes a mere 32 seconds. Depending on your mood, you can cruise the streets in the latest MINI or immerse yourself in a nostalgic drive with the classic style.

A. Aprilfool, lead designer at BMW Germany, who was involved in the design of this special mechanism, commented, "For the new MINI, which shares a design philosophy with the Classic Mini, transformation was not a difficult task."

He reportedly added two points of caution: "First, the driver is ejected from the vehicle for a safe transformation. Please be careful when transforming in the rain. Second, consider the release date of this announcement."

While its appearance has changed, the MINI has continuously inherited the individuality of the original Mini, with its sporty exhaust note and direct steering feel. This third generation features homage to the old Mini throughout its exterior, including the hexagonal front grille. However, it remains unclear whether this special edition was introduced to satisfy the demands of old Mini fans who still desired more.
