To Be Exhibited Sequentially at Fukuoka and Sapporo Motor Shows Next Year

The open-top "Beetle Cabriolet," based on the "Beetle" (official name "Type 1"), which can be considered Volkswagen's origin, was born in 1949. By the time production ended in January 1980, 235,000 units had been produced. Approximately 5,000 units were sold in Japan, and the car raced through the winds of time across the globe.

This March, "The Beetle Cabriolet," which carries the DNA of the original Beetle Cabriolet, was launched in Japan. To commemorate its upcoming first anniversary since sales began, "The Beetle Cabriolet 50's / 60's / 70's" was created. The colors, symbolizing the history of the Beetle Cabriolet and the background of each era, have been stylishly and contemporarily arranged and reflected in the interior and exterior. The Beetle Cabriolet"The Beetle Cabriolet" was launched in Japan this March. The "The Beetle Cabriolet 50's," evoking the 1950s, features a black body and soft top, chrome wheel caps, and a sophisticated retro feel created by its red and black two-tone leather seats. "The Beetle Cabriolet 60's," an homage to the decade that followed, has a refreshing light blue body color reminiscent of a California summer. This model alone is equipped with paddle shifters and a triple meter (park distance control is not equipped). "The Beetle Cabriolet 70's" presents an elegant and classical appearance symbolizing the 1970s.
