Two Models Equipped with a 1.8-Liter Inline-4 Engine

First unveiled in March 2011at the Geneva Motor Show, the "C-Class Coupe". Previously, the C 63 AMG (priced at ¥10.85 million) and its Black Series variant (limited to 50 units, priced at ¥15 million) were launched, but now the standard model makes its Japan premiere and sales have begun.

While two diesel CDI models are available in its home market, Japan will see the sale of two gasoline models: the C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY Coupe and the C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY Coupe.

Both models feature a new generation 1.8-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine paired with the 7-speed automatic transmission "7G-TRONIC PLUS." The C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY Coupe produces a maximum output of 156 ps (115 kW) at 5,000 rpm and a peak torque of 250 Nm (25.5 kgm) between 1,600 and 4,200 rpm. The C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY Coupe delivers a maximum output of 204 ps (150 kW) at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 310 Nm (31.6 kgm) between 2,000 and 4,300 rpm. The C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY Coupe is equipped with an ECO start & stop function, achieving fuel economy of 13.8 km/ℓ (10-15 mode). It has also been certified as meeting the "FY2015 Fuel Economy Standards" and "75% Reduction Level of 2005 Exhaust Gas Standards," qualifying for eco-car tax reductions (75% tax exemption).

The exterior boasts proportions adhering to traditional coupe styling, including a short front overhang and a long, flowing roofline that extends from a sharply raked windshield. The front design is shared with the sedan and station wagon, with the three-pointed star centrally placed in the grille and LED-rich headlight modules creating a sharp expression.

Adopts "Agility Control" for a Balance of Agility and Comfort

The chassis, similar to the sedan/station wagon, features a suspension system with a hydraulic selective damping system, employing "Agility Control" to balance agility and comfort. The C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY Coupe comes standard with the "Dynamic Handling Package," which actively controls damper characteristics based on driving conditions to ensure a comfortable ride.

Despite being a coupe, practicality is emphasized, with a luggage capacity of 450 liters, 10 liters more than the sedan.

Other standard equipment includes 11 SRS airbags, "ATTENTION ASSIST" to detect driver fatigue and provide warnings, and the advanced telematics system "COMAND System" offering features such as an HDD navigation system and Bluetooth audio.

Special Edition "C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY Edition 1" Also Launched

Additionally, for this C-Class Coupe Japan premiere, the launch of a special edition model, the "C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY Edition 1," was also announced. Based on the C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY Coupe, this model features a choice of five metallic paint colors and a matte black "designo magno night black" body color, along with 18-inch AMG 7-spoke alloy wheels with a polished and titanium grey two-tone finish, creating a sportier appearance.

The interior also adopts a black base with porcelain-colored contrast interior trim and steering wheel. The ARTICO leather seats are also accented with porcelain stitching.

Pricing is set at ¥4.35 million for the "C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY Coupe," ¥5.98 million for the "C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY Coupe," and ¥6.20 million for the special edition "C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY Edition 1."
