F Sport Enhancements for Handling and Refinement

The "F Sport" is a series of genuine optional parts developed to comprehensively improve the performance of Lexus vehicles. Already available for the "IS" and "GS," the model unveiled this time is the "CT200h"—rumored to begin order taking in Europe after its recent debut at the Paris Motor Show—equipped with F Sport parts.

The body is painted in the F Sport's exclusive color, Flame Blue. Exterior features include fine-spoke alloy wheels, upgraded brakes, and a rear bumper with a diffuser-like treatment. The interior boasts an F Sport emblem steering wheel, sports pedals, and scuff plates. Notably, the F Sport package also includes suspension tuning designed to balance handling and ride comfort.

The CT200h is scheduled for release in Japan in early 2011. Pricing is expected to start in the mid-3 million yen range.

BRAND HISTORY
Toyota launched its luxury car brand, LEXUS, in the American market in 1989. The aim was to offer a new value proposition, distinct from established luxury cars from America and Germany, by leveraging Toyota's advanced technology, superior quality, and exceptional customer service.

Upon the introduction of the "LS400" (sold as the Celsior in Japan) and "ES250" (Camry in Japan) to the American market in September of that year, the LS400 quickly earned the title of Best Import Car by February 1990. Lexus's reputation continued to grow, solidifying its position as a luxury brand with an expanding lineup.

Following its success in America, Lexus expanded into Europe in 2004 and announced its entry into the Japanese market in May of the same year. In August 2005, the brand commenced its domestic business. Initially, the lineup lacked a flagship "LS," featuring models like the "GS" (successor to the Toyota Aristo), "SC" (Toyota Soarer), and "IS" (successor to the Toyota Altezza). However, the launch of the all-new LS in September 2006, followed by its hybrid variant, the "LS600h/LS600hL," in May 2007, met the expectations of luxury saloon buyers.

Concurrently, Lexus has focused on building a sporty image, announcing the performance model "IS F" in October 2007 and entering the Nürburgring 24 Hours race in May 2008 with the developing "LF-A" sports coupe. These efforts are expected to further enhance its popularity.
