TSI with Price Revision and 2.0 TSI with Enhanced Equipment

The coupe model "Scirocco," which has sold over 1,500 units since its revival in 2008, has undergone changes. Volkswagen has applied distinct modifications to its two current models, the "TSI" and the "2.0 TSI."

First, the Scirocco TSI, equipped with a 1.4-liter twin-charger TSI engine, has cleared the Heisei 17 (2005) automobile emissions standards, achieving a 75% reduction and earning a four-star rating. Furthermore, it has achieved a fuel consumption of 15.4 km/l and a fuel efficiency standard of +15% for Heisei 22 (2010), qualifying it for the "Eco-Car Tax Reduction" program approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Additionally, the navigation system is now an optional feature, and a review of the equipment has led to a price reduction of 440,000 yen, bringing the selling price down to an astonishing 3.48 million yen.

Mobility Tires

Meanwhile, the 2.0 TSI now comes standard with the "Rear Assist" rearview camera, resulting in a slight price increase of 30,000 yen.

Furthermore, this update includes standard mobility tires, enhancing durability. These tires, which will be applied to future Scirocco and Passat models, feature a special polymer coating on the inner tread. This adhesive property allows the tire to instantly seal punctures up to 5mm in diameter.
There has been no specific change in price related to this feature.

With the price revision and improved driving safety, the Scirocco has become an even more accessible model, appealing to younger demographics below the 40-50 age range, where it already held a significant market share.
