An Expanded Range of Environmentally Friendly Luxury Sedans

Last spring, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan underwent a full model change. Since then, the model lineup has expanded to include coupe, station wagon, and cabriolet variants, achieving strong sales figures.

Notably, the "E 350 BlueTEC," which boasts "the world's cleanest diesel," launched in February, has been exceptionally popular, with over 1,500 orders received by the end of July. This model, with its high fuel efficiency and excellent economy, can be considered the most accessible way to experience Mercedes' elegance.

The E-Class, already recognized for its high quality in both specifications and environmental performance, has now seen its equipment enhanced without any price changes. New features have been adopted primarily to improve safety and comfort, while options for enhancing the interior's premium feel have been diversified.

Specifically, the changes are as follows:

First, the following apply to all models:
Improved visibility. All models are now equipped with "LED Driving Lights," previously standard on the "E 63 AMG," enhancing the front-end design and improving safety during night driving.
The "SRS Pelvisbag," previously standard on the station wagon and E 350 BlueTEC sedan, is now standard on all models. This reduces the load on the torso and pelvic area of front occupants in the event of a side collision.
Furthermore, in the event of a collision, the "Adaptive Force Limiter," which adjusts the retraction force of the rear seat belts in two stages according to the occupant's physique, is now standard. These are significant safety improvements.

Building on the series' already acclaimed sound system, the "harman/kardon Logic 7 Surround Sound" system, featuring 14 speakers and 610W output for a three-dimensional surround experience, is now available as an option. An "Rear Entertainment System" with 8-inch displays mounted behind the front headrests, allowing viewing of TV, DVDs, and external devices, is also available as an option.

Additionally, for all models except the "E 250 CGI," "Rear Seat Heaters" can be specified when ordering leather seats.
This suggests that the enjoyment of driving a Mercedes has expanded not only for the driver but also for other passengers.


The equipment enhancements for each model are as follows:

E 63 AMG
The adoption of a leather ARTICO dashboard. The "AMG Carbon Exterior Package," featuring a front spoiler, rear diffuser, door mirror covers, and a trunk lid spoiler lip (sedan only), is available as an option.

Additionally, the "AMG Carbon Ceramic Brakes" are available as an option, enhancing braking performance.

Furthermore, "Lane Keeping Assist" is available as an option. (Not available when the Performance Package is selected, and also only available with the Exclusive Package for the E 550 Avantgarde).
Lane Keeping Assist is a safety system that warns the driver of lane departure due to distraction, offering significant potential for enhanced safety.

E 550 Avantgarde
The "Exclusive Package," which enhances the interior's premium appearance, is available as a no-cost option. This allows for leather treatment of the dashboard and upper door panels, including a leather ARTICO dashboard and Nappa leather seats.


E 350 BlueTEC
The "AMG Sports Package" is available as an option.
This includes an AMG styling package, AMG sports seats with white stitching, and stainless steel accelerator and brake pedals.

E 350 Avantgarde
The electronically controlled air suspension system "AIRMATIC Suspension" is available as an option.

The enhanced E-Class also comes with Mercedes-Care (three years of complimentary repairs and maintenance with unlimited mileage, plus 24-hour roadside assistance). Additionally, the "My Mercedes" program offers optional extensions of the general warranty and 24-hour roadside assistance for up to two additional years.
