Craft Your Own Unique Vehicle
The most distinctive feature of the Panamera's interior, Porsche's four-door Gran Turismo, is the center console that extends from the dashboard to the rear seats. This console creates four individual seats, realizing a space that emphasizes privacy and offers a new sensation unlike any Porsche before.
In the driver's seat, the low seating position and the low-set steering wheel convey that this car is a member of the Porsche family. This setup allows for the enjoyment of Porsche's signature direct driving experience.
In addition to Porsche's traditional values, the Panamera offers a wealth of options that allow users to freely customize the interior. With smooth/natural leather, there are 13 color and material combinations (including four two-tone options), and further, upon request, seven types of trim can be combined, including carbon and olive natural open-pore wood, making it possible to create your own unique vehicle.
In terms of functionality, the optional four-zone full automatic climate control allows for independent adjustment of temperature, fan speed, and airflow for each seat. The front two seats are equipped as standard with electric control seats that exude a sporty feel. Although optional, the rear seat positions can also be electrically adjusted with the installation of adaptive sport seats or electric control seats.
Three Grades: "S," "4S," and "Turbo"
The Panamera also boasts outstanding practicality. Opening the rear lid reveals a luggage space that can easily accommodate four suitcases. With ample height, the capacity is 445 liters for the Panamera S/4S and 432 liters for the Panamera Turbo. By folding down the rear seat backrests, a capacity of 1,250 liters can be achieved.
In terms of safety, front airbags for the driver and front passenger, curtain airbags for all seats, as well as side airbags and knee airbags for the front seats are standard, providing maximum occupant protection. Furthermore, side airbags can also be optionally fitted to the rear seats.
All models are equipped with V8 engines.
The 4.8-liter V8 unit in the entry-level Panamera S delivers a maximum output of 400 ps, achieving 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 283 km/h. The Panamera 4S uses the same engine, but due to its all-wheel drive, it accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds with a top speed of 282 km/h.
The top-tier Panamera Turbo boasts a maximum output of 500 ps. This power, generated by a 4.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, is delivered through all-wheel drive, making 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 303 km/h a reality. (All figures were recorded with the 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung "PDK." This is an optional feature only for the Panamera S.)
The Panamera achieves a balance of outstanding performance with comfort and practicality for four occupants. Sales in the German market are scheduled to begin on September 12, 2009.
BRAND HISTORY
PORSCHE is a sports car brand representing Germany, earning overwhelming support from skilled individuals worldwide. Its origins trace back to 1931. Ferdinand Porsche, a prodigy who distinguished himself as an automotive engineer in his twenties, gained experience as technical director at Daimler before establishing his own "Porsche Design Studio" in Stuttgart, Germany. From then on, he was entrusted with the development of various vehicles for automobile manufacturers. Among his most famous works is the "Volkswagen Beetle," which significantly contributed to motorization as Germany's "people's car."
The first car to bear his name as a manufacturer was the "356," introduced in 1948. Since then, Porsche has introduced sports cars such as the "911," "924," and "928," while also focusing on motorsport. For instance, they have achieved 16 victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, arguably the world's most grueling race, and contributed to three series championships as an engine supplier in Formula 1, accumulating a brilliant track record. It goes without saying that their technological prowess and dedication to driving continue to breathe life into their products today.
Currently, the "911," which continues to be highly regarded as a top-tier sports car even 45 years after its debut, along with the open-top sports car "Boxster," its coupe counterpart the "Cayman," and the premium sports SUV "Cayenne," all boast immense popularity.
