Wider and Lower Than Competitors
The styling of the Panamera, as seen in the photos, adopts Porsche's signature "front mask" and "V-shaped hood" reminiscent of the 911, asserting that this model is undoubtedly a new addition to Porsche's lineup.
The dimensions are a length of 4,970 mm, a width of 1,931 mm, and a height of 1,418 mm. These figures are wider and considerably lower than those of competing four-door models from other manufacturers such as the Mercedes S-Class, CLS-Class, and BMW 7 Series. Furthermore, the sporty short overhangs express a new, distinctive, and elegant GT.
Looking inside, the new spatial concept and sporty design allow occupants to enjoy a "pilot-like feeling" and "ergonomically based high comfort" from any of the four seats. The luggage compartment offers ample space to store luggage for all occupants, and with the adoption of foldable backrests, it is easy to arrange the luggage space flexibly and load long or bulky items.
New Engines Ranging from 300 to 500 hp
The Panamera is equipped with a newly developed engine unit specifically for this model. This engine produces a maximum output ranging from 300 to 500 hp depending on displacement, and while some engines are equipped with turbochargers, the adoption of direct fuel injection achieves both high output and low fuel consumption.
The transmission options are a 6-speed manual or the 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), a dual-clutch transmission recently adopted in the latest 911 models.
In addition to rear-wheel-drive models characterized by sporty handling, the Panamera will also be available in all-wheel-drive models for more powerful and versatile performance. Furthermore, a hybrid engine model with excellent fuel efficiency is planned for commercialization in the near future, with details regarding the engine, transmission, performance, pricing, and equipment to be announced next spring.
Following its world premiere in the spring of 2009, the Panamera is scheduled to go on sale at Porsche dealerships worldwide from the end of summer that year.

BRAND HISTORY
Porsche is a globally acclaimed sports car brand from Germany, earning overwhelming support from skilled drivers worldwide. Its origins trace back to 1931 when Ferdinand Porsche, a brilliant engineer who distinguished himself from his twenties, established the "Porsche Design Studio" in Stuttgart, Germany, after a tenure as technical director at Daimler. He subsequently undertook development projects for various automobiles from different manufacturers. Notably, he contributed significantly to motorization with the "Volkswagen Beetle," which became the "people's car" of Germany.
The first car to bear his name as an automobile manufacturer was the "356," introduced in 1948. Since then, Porsche has released sports cars such as the "911," "924," and "928," while also focusing on motorsport. For instance, they achieved 16 victories in the grueling 24 Hours of Le Mans race and contributed to three series championships as an engine supplier in Formula 1, accumulating a brilliant track record. It goes without saying that their technological prowess and dedication to driving performance continue to live on in their products today.
Currently, the lineup includes the "911," which, even after 45 years since its debut, remains highly regarded as a top-tier sports car; the open-top sports car "Boxster"; its coupe counterpart, the "Cayman"; and the premium sports SUV "Cayenne." All of these models boast immense popularity.
