A World Premiere for Just Nine Cars

The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, an open-top special edition marking the final chapter of Lamborghini's 50th anniversary, has been unveiled in Abu Dhabi. The highly anticipated world premiere took place in an unprecedented venue: the deck of the Italian Navy aircraft carrier "Cavour." This setting was fitting for the Veneno Roadster, a special model with a production run of only nine units.

As we previously reported, the Veneno Roadster is world-premiered at the Geneva Motor Show in Marchan open-top version of the " Veneno" The "Roadster" name itself indicates its design for open-air driving, and it comes without any weather protection features such as a removable roof or a simple soft top.

Automobili Lamborghini CEO and President Stephan Winkelmann stated, "The Veneno Roadster, with its outstanding performance, is one of the most exceptional cars in the world. Lamborghini is deeply honored to present it in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, a testament to its status as an iconic Italian supercar. Our sports cars have garnered a significant following in this region, with the Middle East being one of Lamborghini's largest global markets." He expressed his delight at the unveiling.

Naturally, omitting the roof of the "Veneno" and giving the side windows and engine cover unique roadster designs enhances its aggressive appeal. However, its distinctive, unmistakably Lamborghini form, unlike any other supercar, is captivating. The absence of a roof accentuates its low profile and large rear wing, creating a decidedly spartan image.

Price: 3.3 Million Euros

The engine is the same as the coupe version, the "Veneno," unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March: a 6.5-liter V12 mounted longitudinally in a mid-ship configuration, producing a maximum output of 750 hp, paired with a 7-speed, mode-selectable "ISR (Independent Shifting Rod) transmission," a two-pedal system.

The body utilizes a lightweight yet rigid carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer for its monocoque tub and body panels. The suspension, attached to the body via subframes, uses a pushrod system, similar to racing cars. The drivetrain is, as is now customary for Lamborghiniall-wheel drive.

With a dry weight of just 1,490 kg and a power-to-weight ratio of 1.93 kg/hp, its performance is astounding. It achieves 0-100 km/h in a mere 2.9 seconds and boasts a top speed of 355 km/h, making it the most powerful open-top model in the company's history.

The event commenced with the Italian national anthem sung by singer and actress Elena Bonelli, followed by the unveiling of the Veneno Roadster. Subsequently, the "Italian Evening" featured a glamorous show by ten top models adorned in designs by fashion designer Giada Curti. Dinner was prepared by Chef Corrado Corti, specially flown in from the renowned "Splendido" hotel in Portofino, Italy, making for a truly luxurious affair. Among the distinguished guests was Fabio Cannavaro, former captain of the Italian national football team and a 2006 World Cup champion.
