Fastest Flagship Saloon "XJR" Now Available for Order

Jaguar Land Rover Japan announced on October 3rd the Japanese specifications for the new "XJR," the top-performing model within Jaguar's flagship saloon "XJ" lineup. Orders are now being accepted.

Following a full model change in 2009,the current "XJ" debuted..This year's New York Auto Showsawthe arrival of the "XJR," touted as Jaguar's fastest ever.Ahead of its launch in Japan, orders have officially commenced domestically.

The new "XJR" four-door sports saloon replaces the previous "XJ Super Sport Standard Wheelbase." Its engine is a specially tuned version of the 5-liter V8 supercharged engine found in the Super Sport, with maximum output increased to 405kW (550ps) at 6,500rpm. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, it achieves the lineup's most potent performance figures: 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 280km/h, resulting in an agile and highly responsive vehicle.

The exterior features aerodynamic enhancements to fully realize the "XJR's" high potential. The front boasts a specially designed bumper with distinctive air intakes and a lower front spoiler, while a newly added rear spoiler suppresses rear lift.

It rides on exclusive 20-inch lightweight cast wheels with a technical grey finish, developed specifically for the "XJR" to provide stable grip. Additionally, the dampers and spring rates have been adjusted to optimize handling and stability during high-speed driving.

A striking red badge adorns the center of the front grille, complemented by a new "R" badge on the lower right, signifying its special status within the Jaguar range. The interior design also features the new "R" logo, with soft-grain leather "R" sports seats fitted in the front.

The price in Japan is 16.95 million yen.
