FF Model Gets a Power Boost

Volkswagen Group Japan has revised the specifications for its compact SUV, the Tiguan. The FF model's maximum output has been increased from the previous 110kW (150ps) to 118kW (160ps), while the 4WD model also sees enhancements to its standard equipment.

4WD Model Features Standard Navigation and Paddle Shifters

Debuting in 2008 as Volkswagen's first compact SUV,TiguanWhile the 4WD model offered high rough-road performance, last year saw the addition of the FF model, theTiguan TSI BlueMotion Technology, which qualifies for eco-car tax reductions. This year, it has become a popular model, accounting for 75 percent of all Tiguan sales.

The "Tiguan TSI BlueMotion Technology" has now been updated with an increased output. Compared to its previous maximum output, it has been boosted by 8kW (10ps) to 118kW (160ps). Despite this enhancement, its fuel efficiency remains at a favorable 14.6 km/ℓ in the JC08 mode, the same as before.

Furthermore, the 4WD model, "Tiguan 2.0 TSI R-Line 4MOTION," now comes standard with a navigation system, paddle shifters, and a full-color multi-function display. An optional upgrade package includes the latest driver assistance systems such as "Lane Assist" to prevent lane departure and "Park Assist" for automatic steering during parking.

The price for the "Tiguan TSI BlueMotion Technology" remains unchanged at 3.45 million yen, while the "Tiguan 2.0 TSI R-Line 4MOTION" is set at 4.56 million yen. The upgrade package is priced at 483,000 yen.
