An Even More Special Smart

The "smart fortwo," positioned as a micro-compact car and offered by Mercedes-Benz, has seen the introduction of the "smart" in Japan-exclusive models: the "smart fortwo coupe BRABUS Xclusive edition tailor made" and the "smart fortwo cabrio BRABUS Xclusive edition tailor made."



The base for these special edition vehicles is the "smart fortwo BRABUS Xclusive" which was sold as a limited edition of 250 units in total for coupe and cabrio models last August.



Thanks to Brabus tuning, the 1-liter 3-cylinder DOHC turbo engine delivers 75kW (102ps), a 23kW (31ps) increase over the standard "smart fortwo mhd." This high-performance model also features a transmission with approximately 20 percent shorter shift times and a dedicated suspension system.



Both the interior and exterior are special specifications from the full custom order program "smart BRABUS tailor made," handled entirely by artisans at smart-BRABUS.



The exterior features Brabus-exclusive design elements such as a front spoiler, side and rear skirts, Brabus dark headlight units, 16-inch front and 17-inch rear Brabus 6-twin-spoke alloy wheels, and a center-mounted Brabus dual chrome exhaust end.



The interior, meanwhile, utilizes exclusive red leather for the seats, dashboard, and door trims, a specification unique to the Japanese market. The seat surfaces and the center sections of the door trims are finished with diamond stitching. Furthermore, accent parts in the body color are incorporated throughout the interior, with each detail meticulously crafted by skilled artisans one by one. It also includes a Brabus-exclusive small-diameter steering wheel with paddle shifters and a shift knob made of aluminum and genuine leather.




Two body colors are available for both the coupe and cabriolet models: "Deep Black" and "Dark Grey Matte." The cabriolet features a red soft top with Deep Black and a black soft top with Dark Grey Matte.



The price for the "smart fortwo coupe BRABUS Xclusive edition tailor made" is 2.82 million yen, with a limited production of 140 units: 95 in Deep Black and 45 in Dark Grey Matte. The open-top "smart fortwo cabrio BRABUS Xclusive edition tailor made" is priced at 3.06 million yen, with a total of 80 units: 55 in Deep Black and 25 in Dark Grey Matte. The overall limited production is 220 units.
