Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe & Cabriolet Launched in Japan

The Mercedes-Benz E-Classfamily has undergone a significant minor change. Following the sedan and station wagon, the Coupe & Cabriolethave now joined the lineup in Japan.

E250 Cabriolet from ¥6.99 Million

Following the sedan and station wagon models of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the minor change versions of the two-door, four-seater coupe and cabriolet have also been introduced to Japan.

With this significant minor change, the coupe and cabriolet, as part of the new E-Class family, now feature a sporty front face, mirroring the sedan and station wagon that preceded them. The rear LED combination lamps have also been redesigned. The interior sees a revised center console design.

In terms of equipment, the vehicles now offer enhanced safety and comfort, similar to the sedan and station wagon, notably featuring a stereo camera capable of seeing approximately 50 meters ahead, in addition to radar.

The model lineup includes five variants: the "E250 Coupe" equipped with a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that achieves fuel efficiency of 15.5 km/l, matching the sedan and qualifying for new eco-car tax reductions; the "E250 Cabriolet," now finally introduced to Japan; the "E350 Coupe" and "E350 Cabriolet" powered by a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine; and the "E550 Coupe" at the top, featuring a 4.7-liter V8 engine.

Prices for the previously available models remain largely unchanged. The "E250 Cabriolet" is set at ¥6.99 million.

The cabriolet models feature an acoustic soft top, noted for its superior sound insulation. When the top is down, the "AirCap" system, consisting of a wind deflector above the windshield and draft-stop elements, directs airflow upwards, reducing wind turbulence from the rear. Additionally, the front seats are equipped with an AirScarf system to warm the neck. These features are optional (¥150,000) on the "E 250 Cabriolet" and standard on the "E 350 Cabriolet."

Other notable optional packages include the "AMG Sports Package" (¥200,000 for E 250, ¥300,000 for E 350, standard on E 550), which adds 18-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels, AMG styling for the front spoiler and side/rear skirts, ARTICO leather seats with seat ventilators, stainless steel pedals, and AMG floor mats. The "Luxury Package" (¥360,000), available for the E 350 Coupe and Cabriolet, includes a leather-wrapped wood steering wheel, Nappa leather seats, and a dashboard (standard on E 550 Coupe).

Furthermore, a new leasing program called "Dream Lease" has been introduced for the E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet, limited to 50 units nationwide.

This program includes a three-month "satisfaction evaluation period" during the lease term. After signing a three-year "open-end lease" agreement and paying a fixed lease fee that includes taxes and other charges, customers can cancel the contract within three months if they are not satisfied with the vehicle.
