Bugatti Legend Reborn

Bugatti will unveil a special edition of the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, named after the legendary two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Jean-Pierre Wimille, at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August.

Born in 1908, Jean-Pierre Wimille became a Bugatti test driver in 1933, recognized for his racing achievements. Wimille spent most of his racing career with Bugatti, becoming a celebrated driver of his era. He is known for his victory at the 1937 24 Hours of Le Mans driving the Bugatti Type 57G Tank, and for winning again two years later with the Type 57C Tank.

The Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Jean-Pierre Wimille is a special model finished in blue clear-coated carbon and a shade of light blue named "Wimille Blue," inspired by the traditional French racing car color of the Type 57G Tank. Only three units will be produced.

The specifications remain unchanged, including the 8-liter W16 engine producing a maximum output of 1,200 hp and 1,500 Nm of torque, a top speed of 408.84 km/h, and acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 2.6 seconds.

Over the next 12 months, Bugatti plans to release six Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse models, each named after individuals who contributed to the brand's heritage under the theme "Bugatti Legends." The "Jean-Pierre Wimille" is the first of these.
