Why Does Maserati Feature Bowers & Wilkins?
The "Seven Notes World Tour," a collaboration event between Maserati's new "Quattroporte," set for delivery starting in June, and the British speaker brand Bowers & Wilkins, was held on Thursday, May 23rd, at R Gallery in Omotesando.

Maserati's Sound Changes Every 500 Revolutions
Recently,Japan Premierewe reported on the details ofMaserati's New Quattroporte. The selection of British speaker brand Bowers & Wilkins as its audio partner was announced last year at theWorld Premiere. The reason the two companies joined forces, it is said, is because "their philosophies aligned, prioritizing quality and meticulously crafting products with attention to exterior design."
To express this collaboration, a global unveiling event is currently underway. Following Dubai, China (Beijing & Shanghai), and Tokyo,
Los Angeles, New York, and London will be the next stages. The sound producer for this event is Howie B, who has provided music for "Björk" and "U2." He discovered that the new Quattroporte's engine sound has a musical scale from 2,500 to 5,500 rpm, with distinct notes every 500 rpm, and sampled each as a "seven-note Maserati scale." Based on these sound sources, he created music and presented it alongside the new "Quattroporte"'s image film at the event.

The "Premium Sound System" built with Bowers & Wilkins speakers consists of 15 meticulously placed speakers in the dashboard, doors, and rear shelf, driven by a 1,280W amplifier. The carefully studied acoustic layout within the cabin creates a superior sound space. The price for this optional "Premium Sound System," which adds superior acoustics to the new Quattroporte's engine sound, is 420,000 yen.
