"Golf GTI Performance" Equipped with Exclusive 19-inch Wheels

The first-generation "Golf GTI," born in 1976 as a pioneer of hot hatchbacks, has been a sporty model usable in daily life for over 40 years. Two models, previously only available as limited editions, have now been added to the series as special editions.

Additionally, the "up! GTI"up! GTI" is exclusively a manual transmission model. Its compact body houses a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine, tuned to produce a maximum output of 85kW (116ps) and a maximum torque of 200Nm (20.4kgm). It features sport-tuned, agile suspension.



It features 17-inch wheels, and retains the traditional GTI exterior and interior elements such as the red stripe on the radiator grille and the tartan check seat pattern. This time, a rearview camera and premium sound system have also been adopted.

Also, the "Golf GTI Performance"Golf GTI Performance," which was released as a limited edition in 2017 and is now making a comeback, is equipped with exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels, different from the previous model.



The "Performance" model inherits the specifications of the previous limited edition, featuring a specially tuned 2.0-liter turbo engine that produces a maximum output of 180kW (245ps) and a maximum torque of 370Nm (37.7kgm), which is 15ps more than the base "Golf GTI." It uses a 7-speed DSG transmission instead of the 6-speed AT (DSG) found in the base model. Performance is further enhanced with features like an electronically controlled hydraulic front differential lock and larger brake discs.

The "up!" is available in two body colors: Tungsten Silver Metallic and Pure White. The "Golf" comes in three colors: Dark Iron Blue Metallic, Pure White, and Deep Black Pearl Effect. The prices are 2,299,000 yen for the "up!" and 4,569,000 yen for the "Golf."
