Performance Package Applying GT3 Machine Know-How Also Available

Since the launch of the "IS F" in 2007, the "F" has been passed down as Lexus's high-performance model under the development theme of "seamlessly enjoying driving from public roads to the circuit."

The RC F, unveiled for the first time in the world in Detroit as a new step for "F," features improvements to the powertrain, suspension, and tires. While retaining the 5-liter naturally aspirated engine, its output has been increased to produce a maximum output of 352kW (472ps) at 7,000rpm and a maximum torque of 535Nm (54.6kgm) at 4,800rpm.

Furthermore, improvements to the air cleaner shape have enhanced intake performance, and lighter throttle control has improved throttle response. The body has also achieved a weight reduction of 20kg.



The exterior styling extensively incorporates aerodynamic devices and shapes honed through racing. Canard shapes have been added to the front bumper corners to improve downforce, and by creating undercut shapes at the rear of the side rocker moldings, turbulence around the rear tires is suppressed, aiming for improved aerodynamic performance.

Additionally, ducts have been added to the front and rear wheelhouses to reduce air compression within them. This is said to contribute to optimal cornering posture and improved steering response.

A new "Performance Package" is also available. Applying know-how gained from the "RC F GT3"'s participation in Japanese Super GT and the American Daytona 24 Hours race, it features dedicated aerodynamic parts and interior design. By using carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) for exterior components like the engine and roof, along with carbon ceramic brakes, a titanium muffler, and lightweight aluminum wheels, a weight reduction of 70kg compared to the previous model has been achieved, also improving acceleration performance.
