A Powerful Body and Digitalized Interior
Porsche's iconic model, the 911, has evolved into its eighth generation.
The exterior of the new 911, designated "Type 992," features a 45mm wider front body, a front lid line connecting newly designed LED headlights reminiscent of the original 911, flush electric pop-out door handles, and wider wheel arches with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.
The rear end, which is the same width across all models, is striking with its wide, variable rear spoiler and a seamless light bar connecting horizontally. The body, excluding the front and rear sections, is made of aluminum.
The interior is characterized by a clear, linear dashboard with recessed gauges recalling the 1970s 911, and two frameless, slim, freeform displays positioned next to Porsche's signature central rev counter.
The standard PCM (Porsche Communication Management) 10.9-inch center screen allows for quick operation thanks to its new structure, and a compact unit with five switches below it provides direct access to essential vehicle functions.

A More Powerful Flat-Six Turbo Engine
The flat-six turbo engine mounted in the rear of the new 911 "Carrera S" and "Carrera 4S" produces a maximum output of 331 kW (450 PS), an increase of 22 kW (30 PS) over the previous generation. The 0-100 km/h acceleration time breaks the 4-second barrier, with the rear-wheel-drive Carrera S coupe achieving it in 3.7 seconds and the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4S in 3.6 seconds, both 0.4 seconds faster than their predecessors. With the optional Sport Chrono Package, these times are further reduced by 0.2 seconds, reaching top speeds of 308 km/h for the Carrera S and 306 km/h for the Carrera 4S. Fuel consumption is 8.9 L/100 km (11.2 km/L) and 9.0 L/100 km (11.1 km/L), respectively.
In terms of driving dynamics, the world's first Wet Mode is now standard. This function detects water on the road and adjusts the control systems accordingly, alerting the driver. The driver can then switch to a safety-focused setting by pressing a button or using the mode switch on the steering wheel (with the Sport Chrono Package).
Also standard is a warning and brake assist system that detects the risk of collision with moving objects and activates emergency braking if necessary. Additionally, optional features include Night Vision with a thermal camera, Adaptive Cruise Control with automatic distance control, start-stop function, reversible occupant protection, and automatic emergency assist.
Pricing, reservation, and sales start dates for the Japanese market have not yet been determined. An announcement will be made once they are finalized.
