Porsche Adds the Powerful New GTS to the Panamera Lineup

On October 16, Porsche AG announced the addition of two performance models, the Panamera GTS and Panamera GTS Sport Turismo, to its four-door Panamera series. These new models are equipped with a powerful 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine and a three-chamber air suspension.

460 PS V8 Engine Accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.1 Seconds

The 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine powering the front of the new Panamera GTS and Panamera GTS Gran Turismo delivers a maximum output of 338 kW (460 PS) at 6,000-6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 620 Nm at 1,800-4,500 rpm, surpassing the previous GTS by 15 kW (20 PS) and 100 Nm. With the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel-drive system and the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, both models achieve 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds when combined with the Sport Chrono Package. Top speeds are 292 km/h for the Panamera GTS and 289 km/h for the Panamera GTS Sport Turismo. In terms of efficiency, the former consumes 10.3 liters/100 km and the latter 10.6 liters/100 km. CO2 emissions are 235 g/km and 242 g/km, respectively, thanks to features like the particulate filter.

The chassis supporting this high performance features an adaptive suspension with three-chamber technology, ensuring flexible handling and optimal spring rates. The ride height is 10 mm lower than standard models, and the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) has been tuned for sportier performance. The brake rotors have also been enlarged to 390 mm at the front and 365 mm at the rear, resulting in superior lateral dynamics and powerful braking force.

The body dimensions are 5,053 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width, and 1,417 mm in height (1,422 mm for the Sport Turismo), with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. The exterior features a black contrast finish on many areas, including the front end and rear lower trim, and comes standard with 20-inch Panamera Design wheels, creating an athletic image.

The interior utilizes Alcantara and aluminum in many areas, including the heated multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters. Optional features, similar to other second-generation Panameras, include the Porsche Advanced Cockpit, adaptive cruise control, rear-axle steering, and, for the first time in a Panamera, a full-color head-up display. The GTS interior package allows for the selection of colors for the tachometer and stitching, as well as a choice of Carmine Red or Chalk for the interior GTS logos.

Furthermore, the GTS Sport Turismo makes its debut with the second generation. With its large tailgate, low cargo floor, increased load capacity, and 4+1 seating arrangement, it offers maximum practicality alongside remarkable performance. Pricing for Japan has not yet been determined.
