Genuine Drive Recorder Connects with Your Smartphone

The Volvo "V40" is currently offered in diesel turbo and gasoline turbo models. This limited edition is based on the "D4 Kinetic," a clean diesel model of the V40. Its 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel turbo engine produces a maximum output of 140kW (190ps) and a peak torque of 400Nm (40.8kgm), paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

It comes equipped with accessories and options valued at approximately 360,000 yen, including an HDD navigation system (worth about 220,000 yen) and a genuine Volvo drive recorder (worth about 60,000 yen). Notably, the genuine drive recorder automatically records continuously from power-on to power-off, allowing for viewing on a smartphone via Wi-Fi connection, saving videos, and changing settings.

The body is available in four colors: Black, Passion Red, Ice White, and Amazon Blue. Despite the inclusion of equipment worth approximately 360,000 yen, the price is set at 3.79 million yen, a mere 100,000 yen increase over the base model, with a limited production of 200 units.

Concurrently, Volvo has revised the pricing for the "V40." The "D4 Kinetic" is priced at 3.69 million yen, the "D4 Momentum" at 4.14 million yen, and the "D4 Inscription" at 4.44 million yen. For the "V40 Cross Country," the "D4 Kinetic" is 3.84 million yen, the "D4 Momentum" is 4.29 million yen, and the "D4 Summum" is 4.59 million yen.
