Priced at ¥3,448,000
The new Polo GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine with an intercooler, producing a maximum output of 147 kW (200 PS) at 4,400-6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 320 Nm at 1,500-4,350 rpm.
Compared to the previous model, this latest TSI engine boasts an 8 PS increase in maximum output and a 70 Nm increase in maximum torque. Combined with a 6-speed DSG transmission, the standard electronic differential lock "XDS," the optional "Sport Select" chassis with GTI-specific sports suspension and active dampers, and the driving profile function, drivers can enjoy a personalized sporty driving experience.
The exterior features GTI's signature red stripe on the radiator grille, red brake calipers, exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome dual exhaust pipes, and a rear spoiler.
The interior is accented with red and black, featuring traditional tartan check fabric seats, a multi-function steering wheel with red stitching, and velvet red dash pads.
Safety features inherit those of the base new Polo, including standard all-speed adaptive cruise control (ACC) and the "Front Assist" pre-collision braking system. The body is available in four colors: black, white, red, and the new Lime Stone Grey Metallic. The price is ¥3,448,000.
With the launch of the Polo GTI, the "GTI" series now comprises three models – the "up! GTI," "Polo GTI," and "Golf GTI" – for the first time in approximately 13 years.
