Alpine was born as a sports car manufacturer in 1955. In the 1970s, the "A110," characterized by its lightness and agility, became widely known after winning the Rally World Championship. Although it came under the Renault umbrella in 1973, with whom it had a close relationship, developing sports models based on Renault cars, its operations were suspended in 1995.
However, Alpine was revived in 2016. Last year in Europe, a limited edition of the new "A110," the "Premiere Edition," was announced, and this car will also be introduced to Japan in a limited run of 50 units.
The A110 Premiere Edition features an aluminum body and platform for weight reduction, achieving a total weight of 1,110kg. Additionally, it incorporates an aluminum suspension and rear brake calipers with integrated parking brake actuators, which are 2.5kg lighter than standard calipers.
The engine, mounted in the rear mid-section, is a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder turbo developed by the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Tuned jointly by Alpine engineers and Renault Sport to a specification unique to Alpine, it produces a maximum output of 185kW (252ps) and a peak torque of 320Nm (32.6kgm).
The transmission is a 7-speed automatic, with manual shifting possible via aluminum paddles on the steering column. Three driving modes are available: "Normal," "Sport," and "Track," with the speed limiter engaging at 250 km/h.
The suspension utilizes a double-wishbone setup at both the front and rear, reportedly enhancing ride comfort and handling performance.
The body color is exclusively Blue Alpine Metallic. The design, with its four full-LED headlamps and the "spine" running down the center of the hood, carries Alpine's DNA in every detail.
Only 50 units will be sold, and applications will be accepted on the official website or at authorized Alpine dealerships until Tuesday, July 10th. If more than 50 applications are received, a lottery will be held on Sunday, July 15th, at the French Embassy in the presence of the French Ambassador to determine the purchasers.
The price is 7.9 million yen.
