Featuring the Latest Safety Systems and an Eco-Conscious V8 Twin-Turbo

S-Class Coupé” is a sporty coupé developed to excel in all automotive aspects—safety, comfort, and efficiency—aiming to be the "best automobile," much like the "S-Class Sedan." Furthermore, the "S-Class Cabriolet," a luxurious four-seater open-top model revived in 2016 after a 44-year hiatus since the W111, was developed based on this platform.

In the new model, the exterior features a bumper with large air intakes at the front. At the rear, 33 organic LED panels per side are used in the combination lamps, creating an advanced design that appears to float within the lamps. A "Coming Home Function" is also included, where the rear combination lamps illuminate sequentially upon unlocking and locking.

The interior continues the flowing design concept from the curved dashboard to the doors and seats, while incorporating a large cockpit display, a multifunction steering wheel with touch control buttons, and ambient lighting (64 colors) with a slow, continuous color-changing animation, creating an elegant and exclusive cabin space.

The new "ENERGIZING COMFORT" system integrates music, climate control, ambient lighting, and relaxation functions across five programs: "Freshness," "Vitality," "Joy," "Comfort," and "Training." For instance, selecting "Training" activates training videos, adjusts ambient lighting to optimal colors, and engages the air purifier, creating an ideal environment for workouts.

Among the upgraded intelligent drive systems, "Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC," which maintains distance from the vehicle ahead, now includes an automatic restart function that allows the vehicle to move off without the driver pressing the accelerator, provided it stops for less than 30 seconds. "Active Steering Assist" has also been enhanced, enabling steering assistance by detecting surrounding vehicles and guardrails even when lane markings are unclear or undetectable. On highways, "Active Lane Change Assist" can be used to automatically change lanes with a turn signal operation.

Additionally, the "Evasive Steering Assist" aids steering in emergencies, "PRE-SAFE Sound" protects occupants' ears from the impact sound of a collision, and "Active Brake Assist" provides automatic emergency braking for pedestrians and vehicles emerging at intersections.

The "Mercedes me connect" telematics service, which enhances user convenience through vehicle communication, offers "Safety & Security Services" for assistance from a call center in case of accidents or breakdowns, "Convenience Services" for operating the vehicle via smartphone and locating parking spots, and "Concierge Services" where dedicated operators provide 24/7 support for navigation destination settings and reservations for restaurants and hotels via a dedicated in-car button.

In terms of powertrain, the "S 560" series features a new 4.0-liter V8 biturbo direct-injection engine that deactivates four cylinders under low load. The performance-oriented "S 63 4MATIC+ Coupé/Cabriolet" is equipped with a torque-variable all-wheel-drive system, "AMG 4MATIC+," which distributes torque variably from a 50:50 to 0:100 front-rear split for optimal power delivery to all four wheels. The top performance models, "S 65 Coupé/Cabriolet," are powered by V12 engines.

Prices range from 15.08 million yen (S450 4MATIC Coupé) to 33.10 million yen (AMG S65 Coupé) for the Coupé, and from 21.75 million yen (S560 Cabriolet) to 34.70 million yen (AMG S65 Cabriolet) for the Cabriolet.
